Boiled eggs are a popular and nutritious food. To boil an egg, follow these steps:

1. Place the egg(s) in a saucepan and add enough water to cover them completely.
2. Place the saucepan on the stove over medium heat.
3. Once the water starts boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the eggs simmer for about 4-6 minutes for a soft-boiled egg or 8-12 minutes for a hard-boiled egg, depending on your preference.
4. While the eggs are boiling, prepare a bowl of ice water.
5. Once the desired cooking time is reached, use a slotted spoon to transfer the eggs from the saucepan to the bowl of ice water. This will stop the cooking process and make them easier to peel.
6. Let the eggs sit in the ice water for a few minutes to cool down.
7. Gently tap the eggs on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel off the shell.
8. Your boiled eggs are now ready to be enjoyed! They can be eaten as is, sliced and added to salads, or used in various recipes.

Remember to handle boiled eggs with care, as they can be hot when freshly cooked. Enjoy!
